For the Extraordinaire Jubilee of Mercy - JULY 1-3, 2016
Eucharistic Jesus Ministries presented the
First Public Veneration of “The Bread of Life”
at St. Laurence Roman Catholic Church

The Bread of Life is an original oil painting . It is a rendering of a mystical image of the Transubstantiation of the Holy Eucharist at the Consecration of Holy Mass. It was originally sketched by, and described in greater detail to the painter, by Geraldine Miller, a St. Laurence parishioner.

A photographic copy of the image was unveiled on September 22, 2015, in honor of Pope Francis’ visit for the 2015 World Meeting of Families at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 21 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

The image was blessed by our Holy Father, Pope Francis, on September 26, 2015, during the parade for the Festival of Families on the Ben Franklin Parkway. A total of 100,000 Holy Cards were distributed on the streets of center city Philadelphia, in local parishes, and at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul by Father Gerald Gill, Cathedral Pastor and Director of Liturgy for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Holy Cards will also be available to visitors in July.

The accompanying prayer, originally named “A Sinner’s Prayer,” received the Nihil Obstat from Reverend Robert A. Pesarchick on September 23, 2015, and the Imprimatur on September 29, 2015, from Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. Archbishop of Philadelphia. The prayer has been renamed the “Geraldine Prayer.”
